Court Overules Federal Removal of Great Lakes Wolf From Endangered Species List

In response to lawsuits filed by environmental groups, a federal court overruled the Bush administration's 2007 removal of the Gray Wolf from the
endangered species list in the Great Lakes region. Under protection of the endangered species act, the Great Lakes wolf population has risen to 4000. This ruling has stopped the slaughter of wolves in Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
