How to Buy Organic "Green" Milk
Milk. We all drink it and we all know we'd rather have it good for us and the planet. We just stumbled across this interesting video at Treehugger about "Green" milk. What's green milk? Milk that's both organic and also made from cows that don't impact the planet too much.
Got milk? Want it to be good for you and the planet? This week TreeHuggerTV goes shopping with nutrition expert Marion Nestle to figure out which milk is the least impactful on the planet and the most healthful for us. We continue our ode to the white stuff with a look at EcoHood's organic rap. (Warning: This segment's friendly, but not vegan-friendly. Rest assured TreeHuggers, we do have joy for the soy. . .and the rice and the almond and the oat!)

We've recently switched to organic milk and love it...it tastes great and seems to have a longer expiration date than regular (not sure why?). I've been so turned off by all the articles about injectable hormones given to cows which you KNOW is getting into the milk. Having a child has made me much more conscienscious about what we eat and feed our son. I just wish the organic milk wasn't so stinking expensive!! :) I'm paying about $6.00/gallon!!

The hidden fact that no in the organic or normal diary industry tells you is that to keep a cow producing milk, the cow is kept pregnant (duh). Babies are immediately taken from their mothers, put in a veal crate (most likely) and then you know the rest.
My wife recently started breast-feeding our newborn son and the similarities were too much--we're going vegan. Plus, a vegan diet is better for the environment than driving an hybrid car.
