Dr. Oetker's Simple Organics Chocolate Organic Brownie Mix
I found this mix in the natural foods section of my local supermarket. I love discovering new baking mixes because as much as I fantasize about lazy afternoons spent baking from scratch with my kids, everyone's patience starts to wear a bit thin as we plow through a dozen or so ingredients. Besides, mixing is the best part as far as they're concerned, so adding a couple of eggs and some butter is as close to the real thing as they need to get! I whipped these up last night and tried them out on a few kid and adult friends. Thumbs up all around. These are very dense, moist brownies, not the cake-like kind. My husband said they have the perfect "chew" factor. It might have been nice if they'd cooked up a little higher--they were pretty flat even though I used the suggested 8-inch square baking pan.
Apparently they also have mixes for cakes, icing, cookies, muffins, pancakes, and waffles, as well as an all-purpose baking mix. In addition to the brownie mix, the only other one carried by my local chain supermarket was the muffin mix.
